to two-generation NJ roofers
LGM Roofing Contractors is a family-built roofing company founded on hard work, resilience, and pride in craftsmanship.
Our story begins with our founder, Luis G. Mizhirumbay, who was born in Ecuador in a small rural community where life was simple and work was part of everyday living. From a young age, he learned the value of discipline, responsibility, and perseverance — principles that would later shape the foundation of the company.
In 1997, Luis came to the United States in search of greater opportunity for his growing family. He arrived in Newark, New Jersey, where he began working in the roofing industry — nearly a decade before LGM Roofing itself was founded.
Like many in the trade, his first role was on the ground crew — cleaning job sites, carrying materials, and loading debris after long days of installation. The work was physically demanding, but it was also where he began learning the roofing craft from the ground up.
Through years of dedication and hands-on experience, Luis worked his way up from ground crew to installer, and eventually to leading roofing crews on job sites. These early years gave him a deep understanding of both the technical side of roofing and the responsibility that comes with protecting someone’s home.
In 2006, Luis founded LGM Roofing, using his initials — Luis G. Mizhirumbay — as the name of the company. From the beginning, the business was built on a simple philosophy: treat every home as if it were your own.
Why the eagle
Around the same time, the company adopted the eagle logo, which has remained a proud symbol of the brand ever since. The eagle represents strength, vision, and resilience — just like the eagle sees from above and protects its territory, our mission is to protect the homes and families we serve with roofing systems built to last.
In the early years, LGM Roofing focused on installing roofs for contractors throughout North Jersey. Over time, the company began serving homeowners directly and steadily built a reputation for reliable workmanship and honest service.
Since its founding in 2006, LGM Roofing has roofed homes across North and Central New Jersey, continuing to operate with the same dedication that started the company nearly two decades ago.
What began with humble roots has grown into a company built on discipline, resilience, and pride in craftsmanship.

Darwin returned to help lead the next chapter
While the company was growing, Luis’s son Darwin Mizhirumbay was growing up around the business and witnessing the dedication it took to build it.
After graduating, Darwin joined LGM Roofing and started exactly where his father once had — on the ground crew, helping clean job sites and assist the roofing team. Those early experiences gave him firsthand appreciation for the work and craftsmanship that goes into every roof.
After several years in the field, Darwin pursued his own entrepreneurial path and launched a dumpster rental company that worked alongside contractors and supported projects throughout North Jersey — including roofing projects like those completed by LGM. Running that business gave him valuable experience in marketing, operations, and building the systems that help companies grow and operate efficiently.
In 2025, Darwin returned to LGM Roofing to help lead the company into its next chapter. Today, the company operates two roofing crews serving homeowners across North & Central New Jersey. Darwin focuses on strengthening operations, improving communication, and building a team dedicated to delivering not only high-quality roofing — but also a great experience for every homeowner.
