Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed July 22, 2026.
In plain English
- We want everyone to be able to use this website — including neighbors who use screen readers, keyboards only, magnification, or reduced motion.
- We build to WCAG 2.2 Level AA and the ADA Title III accessibility expectations, and we test with real assistive tech.
- Some third-party embeds (Google Maps, Instagram) are outside our direct control, so we offer alternative ways to reach the same information.
- Ran into a barrier? Call (973) 707-2154 or email [email protected] — we aim to respond within 3 business days.
LGM Roofing Contractors is a family-owned New Jersey roofing and exterior remodeling contractor. Our business runs on trust — with our neighbors, with our crews, and with everyone who visits this website. Accessibility is part of that. We believe our website should give the same clear path to a free roof inspection whether you are typing, tapping, using a keyboard, a screen reader, a switch device, or reading with high magnification. This statement explains what we do, what we know we still need to improve, and how to reach us if anything on the site is getting in your way.
1. Conformance Target
We design and build this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA published by the W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative. We also align with the expectations of Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable state accessibility laws. WCAG 2.2 AA is an ongoing target, not a one-time claim — as we add features, fix bugs, and receive feedback, we keep bringing the site into conformance.
2. Measures We Take
Here is what we do, in practice, on every page and template of this site:
- Semantic HTML. Pages are built with real headings, lists, landmarks, buttons, and links — not generic divs pretending to be interactive.
- Keyboard operability. Every interactive element (menus, buttons, accordions, forms) can be operated with the Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, and arrow keys.
- Visible focus indicators. When you tab to a link or button, you can see where you are.
- AA color contrast. Text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.2 contrast minimums (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI icons) against their backgrounds.
- Alt text on informative images. Photos of completed roofs, GAF badges, and process images have descriptive alternative text; purely decorative images are marked empty so screen readers skip them.
- Labeled form fields. Every estimate-form field has a real, programmatic label (not just a placeholder), plus inline error text that reads out to screen readers when a field fails validation.
- Respect for
prefers-reduced-motion. Scroll reveals and decorative animations turn off automatically when your operating system requests reduced motion. - 200% zoom and 400% reflow support. You can zoom the page or resize text in your browser to at least 200% (and up to 400% at typical widths) without losing content or breaking the layout on desktop.
- Resizable text. Font sizes use relative units so browser text-size settings work.
- ARIA landmarks and heading order. Each page uses one visible H1 followed by a logical H2/H3 outline, and page regions carry ARIA landmark roles (banner, main, navigation, contentinfo).
- Accessible names on every control. Icon-only buttons and links have accessible
names via
aria-labelor visually hidden text. - Skip navigation. A "Skip to main content" link appears on focus at the top of every page.
3. Assistive Technology Support
We test the site with recent, mainstream assistive-technology combinations. If you use something outside this list and hit a barrier, let us know — we want the site to work for you too.
- Screen readers: NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS & iOS), TalkBack (Android).
- Browsers: current versions of Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.
- Operating systems: current versions of Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
- Input methods: keyboard, touch, mouse/pointer, and voice-input (Dragon, Voice Control) for common navigation flows.
4. Known Limitations & Third-Party Content
We are honest about where we are still working:
- Google Maps embed on the Contact page — the interactive map is provided by Google and its keyboard and screen-reader behavior is controlled by Google, not by us. Our address and directions are also written out in plain text next to the map so that nothing on the map is the only way to get that information.
- Instagram / social embeds — where we embed Instagram content, that widget is served by Instagram and can have accessibility gaps outside our control. Where an Instagram post is the only place a specific piece of content appears, we'll also describe it in text on our page or in the alt attribute.
- Third-party financing partner applications — when you apply for financing, part of the flow happens on the lender's site. Their accessibility is theirs, not ours; if you have a barrier there, we can also take your application by phone.
- Older blog images — a small number of historic project photos may still have generic alt text. We're working through them; if you hit one, tell us the URL and we'll fix it fast.
- PDF documents — most brochures and product spec sheets we link to are published by manufacturers (e.g., GAF) and their PDF accessibility is set by the publisher. If you need a specific document in a different format, see Section 6.
5. Feedback & Requests for Accessible Formats
Accessibility feedback is welcome, wanted, and taken seriously. If you encounter any part of this website that is hard to use, or you need information from the site in a different format — large print, plain text, structured Word document, HTML email, or an audio walkthrough over the phone — reach out and we'll help you get it.
- Email: [email protected] (subject line: "Accessibility")
- Phone: (973) 707-2154
- Mail: LGM Roofing Contractors, Attn: Accessibility, 140 Orange St, Bloomfield, NJ 07003
Response time: we aim to acknowledge every accessibility request within 3 business days and to work with you on a resolution — including, where a site fix will take longer, giving you the same information another way in the meantime.
6. Compatibility Assurance
This site is designed and tested for the following recent combinations of browser and assistive technology, all on current operating-system versions:
- Google Chrome + NVDA (Windows)
- Microsoft Edge + JAWS (Windows)
- Apple Safari + VoiceOver (macOS)
- Apple Safari + VoiceOver (iOS)
- Google Chrome + TalkBack (Android)
- Firefox + NVDA (Windows)
- Keyboard-only navigation across all four major desktop browsers
Very old browser versions may not render the site properly. If updating your browser is not an option, we're happy to help you over the phone or by email — see Section 5.
7. ADA Enforcement Notice
LGM Roofing Contractors welcomes and serves customers with disabilities. If you believe you have been denied equal access to any part of our website or business, please contact us first at [email protected] or (973) 707-2154. We take this seriously, we will work with you in good faith to remediate the specific barrier, and we would like the chance to make it right directly before you take any other step. Nothing in this statement waives any rights you have under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, or any other applicable federal, state, or local accessibility law.
8. Ongoing Review
We review this website against WCAG 2.2 AA and this statement at least once per year and after any significant redesign or new feature. Between full reviews, our team fixes accessibility bugs on a rolling basis as they are reported or discovered in internal testing. This statement was last reviewed on July 22, 2026.
9. Statement Approval
This Accessibility Statement is approved and endorsed by the leadership team at LGM Roofing Contractors, including second-generation owner Darwin Mizhirumbay. It reflects an ongoing commitment across our office and field teams — from how we design new pages, to how we photograph and label completed projects, to how we answer the phone when a neighbor calls for help.
